About the role
Fartsicorn Foundation is seeking a volunteer Chairperson to lead our board as we enter an exciting growth phase. Founded from lived experience, our charity is focused on transforming how families access paediatric cancer treatment through AI-driven research tools, global data, and supportive resources.
As Chairperson, you will provide strategic oversight, chair quarterly board meetings, and help shape our governance model from the ground up. You’ll work closely with our driven founding team, and play a key role in recruiting and guiding an independent board.
This is an ideal role for someone with not-for-profit governance experience who wants to contribute to a cause with real impact. The initial commitment is for a 2-year term, with quarterly remote meetings and flexible involvement between meetings.
If you’re passionate about making a difference and helping build a high-impact, values-led organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
About the organisation
Fartsicorn Foundation is a newly established Australian health promotion charity founded by a family whose child was diagnosed with a rare paediatric cancer. Their personal journey revealed how difficult it is to find and access the right treatment options — especially for rare cancers — and how much potential there is to do better.
Our mission is to ensure that no family faces childhood cancer alone. We’re building an AI-powered platform that connects global research, identifies emerging treatment options, and helps families navigate complex medical pathways.
Through innovation, lived experience, and community support, we aim to transform how families access care, accelerate research insights, and improve outcomes for children diagnosed with cancer — particularly rare and hard-to-treat types.
The Foundation is in its early stages and currently applying for charity and DGR endorsement. Backed by a high-capacity founding team and a bold vision, we’re committed to growing a sustainable, well-governed organisation that delivers lasting, life-changing impact.
